I recently came into an old Epiphone El Capitan. It was my brothers, he dosent want it, so now I have it. It needs new strings something fierce. Its an Accoustic-Electric 4 String, and Im curious, (as I am not a bassist), what strings would be best.

If you haven't got anything useful to say, don't say anything at all.

TS, many companies have strings made specifically for acoustic bass. It's personal preference which brand you chose, but if you don't have experience with bass strings, I would recommend D'addarrios or Elixiers.

There may be more basis to the second post than you realize. In my experience, plain ole bass strings sound best on acoustics. The bronze phosphor strings you can get don't sound that great.
