It actually arrived on Tuesday, but I was pretty busy and didn't have time to unbox it. I unboxed it on Thursday but didn't have time to take pics until now

It took a VERY long time to decide on an amp. I never thought I would be able to get this specific amp, but I found one near my price point and pulled the trigger.

'"Stop taking pictures, open the god damn box."

Splawn Nitro was my choice. Just in case you didn't understand gooley's BLATANT clues. Ignore the highlighter.

Remember how I said 'near' my price point? Yeah, I kind of went over. I don't have enough money left to buy a cab right now, but I'm getting there. It was worth waiting for the cab anyways, considering I had been GASing for a Nitro for a very long time.

The pictures don't do this head any justice really. When I saw the pics from the seller I thought I wasn't going to like the headshell but it looks so much better in person.

I just wanted to end this post by taking a second to laugh at those who actually thought I was going to get a Bugera. And also at my horrible photography skills.

So what're you gonna do with it until you get a cab? Use it as a very expensive paperweight?

^^ Basically.

The price was too good to just pass on cause I wouldn't be able to afford a cab. About a week after I sent payment someone sold theirs for almost $200 more.

Happy new amp day, bro. I wanna get a Splawn Quickrod, but it'd be a squillion dollars to get it out here in Bum**** Jamaica.

I knew you wouldn't get a Bugera after I remembered that story how you tried one and it just died instantly.

At least you have some cool island music to jam to

As long as it isn't dub. Unless you like dub. Then

Haha, you say that like reggae is still the staple music around here... clearly you have not been up to date on Jamaican music.

I'm sure if you find the right seller they'll ship it over if you pay shipping.

Splawn ships worldwide too.

Happy NAD day, sorry to hear you're cab-less for the time being though.

And try as I might, I can't ignore the highlighter. I mean...it draws attention to itself, that's ITS JOB!

Sure, reggae is still around but dancehall is what's popular. It's kind of like how rap, hip-hop and R&B have taken over in place of blues in the USA.

That's got to be torture though with no cab. What are you planning on getting to match up with it?

Not 100% sure yet. Likely to be loaded with Splawn SB25s or Eminence Governors though, I hear lots of good things about those speakers with the Nitro.

Did you ever get a chance to try your Nitro with speakers outside of the V30's?

yeah, I've heard good things too. The only other speakers I tried the Nitro with, was Texas Heats, and G12T75. I liked the Heats the best live probably, since they allowed me to up the presence higher without the topend getting harsh. They also brought out a really nice snarl in the midrange of that amp. The hump in the V30 midrange seemed to wash it out a bit, but I liked those best for recording. I generally don't care much for 75's, but they sounded pretty good with the Nitro. I tend to like the stronger midrange amps with the 75's, but they have a weird crunchiness to the top end I don't care for.
