i wouldn't say they're always worse. i remember seeing some DD with the exact same specs as the SD blackouts.

This is probably right.

To put it in simple terms: they're normal pickups with Duncan's name on them, not nearly as good as actual Duncans.

They arent as good they are pretty much labled generic pickups.

No, I'm saying they are normal pickups you'd find in any guitar with Seymour Duncan's name on them.
