wood is better i guess but it's heavier. depends what you like most... your gear / your back (you'll have to carry that stuff around, you know)

Fender makes a lot of tweed covered wood cases.

And the weight is the main difference between the two.

They both do the same thing, so it's really about aesthetics and personal preference.

Go plastic, and if you like Strats, check out the one that comes with the new MIA's. Niftiest case I've ever seen.

Also, I would feel guilty pulling my Les Pauls, out of anything but their respective cases.
