I know there has been a million threads like this, but they're all old threads and none of them seem to have the question answered. I want to upload an mp3, but it says that 'The sample rate of your mp3 is not a multiple of 11.025 kHz. Please encode your mp3 file at 11.025 kHz , 22.050 kHz or 44.100 kHz.' The bit rate is 128. I've tried using Audacity to change the sample rate, but it speeds up or slows down the track. How do I fix this and maintain the tempo/sound quality? I'm not exactly sure what sample rate its currently at, but 44100 Hz (44.100 kHz) speeds it up and 22050 Hz (22.050 kHz) slows it down. Any answers would be appreciated greatly

When you bounce the track it should ask you what sample rate you want it to be exported at.

It does in most DAW's anyway..not sure about audacity.

It will use a dithering algorithm to change the sample rate without changing the speed of the audio.

What program will do this? I have it setup to do that with Audacity in the preferences...but it still won't upload onto UG. I will download another program if its free

Most (if not all) people record in 44.1khz unless they have professional software.

There's no point in anything higher or lower unless your producing a piece of commercial music and you wont be doing that in audacity..
