As some of you may know, my old budget was 400 bucks for a guitar, I have a new budget. My new budget is 600-800 bucks. I definetly can't go above 800 bucks. I play a lot of punk and classic rock. I do play some blues and country, and alternative, but mainly punk rock and rock. Also I don't want a Les paul or a stratocaster. I already have a strat rip-off, and I dont like les pauls very much.
My gear:

Memphis les paul (fixin it up as we speak!)
Schecter C1 plus
Ibanez RX 240 (been sold)
Peavey envoy 110 (Pretty dang good!)
Some washburn acoustic...

Most punk/classic rock would have to be a tele or an sg if you cut out les paul and strat. Also the Epi Firebirds, V's, or Explorer's would fit your budget. Or if you like the bigger body style I would even recommend one of the Epi semi hollow's.

Is it the Les Paul and Stratocaster shapes you don't like and don't want?

I already have a strat rip-off, which is why i dont want one, and I don't like the les paul shape that much..

id suggest making a guitar

a website called warmouth direct has tons of pre routed bodies to choose from
ebay sells alot of necks for about 100
pickups are 200
tuners are 40-50
a tune o matic bridge is 35
a floyd rose tremelo bridge is 100-200
id throw another 30 in for pickguards and accessories

and for about 700 bucks you can have a les paul or jackson randy rhoads with emgs
it helps to not have to pay the music stores all that excess money

Telecaster 62 Tele Custom. A very nice guitar.
Fender Tele Highway One.
Gibson SG Special Faded
Ibanez ARX500 - I think that's what it's called.
ESP LTD Viper
BC Rick Mockingbird - Lovely guitars.
Dean ML
Gibson Flying V Faded
Ibanez Iceaman
Jackson RR3
Washburn IDOL series - also beautiful guitars but they do look like a Les Paul

What LTD are you going to get? Schecter do a few guitars with Duncan designed active pickups that I prefer over EMG's. They are more earthy and a little better clean.

Watch out for vipers. They're annoying to stand with as the balance leans towards the front ane the strap peg is on the back near the neck. The guitar flops around a lot.

Good news is I never play standing :P and I'm sure I can find a way to make it work.
