I saw the global warming thread, and thought this would be a good tie-in. Personally I've installed CFL bulbs and planted trees around my house. All my applinces are Energy Star what have you done?

I traded in my motorcycle for an SUV and started using at least 4 times as many aerosol products, I also try to do little things, like using the most inefficient light bulbs i can find and leaving all of the lights in my house on 24/7, I also recently converted back to using a freon cooled AC unit.

blackle is useless unless you use a CRT monitor.

And if you're using a CRT monitor it's too contrasted to use. It's destroying my eyesight.

Instead of burning my corpses i just bury them. Helps the plants grow

You could burn them and spread the ashes over soil. Helps soil fertility too.

Paper and bottles & cans get recycled

I haven't changed, I've just carried on what I was doing, which was a fair amount, switching off lights and appliances, recycling when I can, I've planted a couple of trees in my lifetime, and I don't drive, neither does my mum (who I live with) or friends, and I don't see my dad often, I also hate public transport, so I mainly walk everywhere.

To be honest, not much. We have a few energy saving lightbulbs around the house, we have always recycled when it comes to glass, card/paper etc and we always try to turn lights off if they arent needed. I want to try and drive less, but I can't bring myself to do it because public transport is so god-damned expensive, although I probably should walk to work.

If you buy season/monthly/weekly tickets public transport is vastly cheaper than driving.

People who moan about the price of public transport are the types who buy single tickets during peak hours.

Horrible car that doesn't make sense out of North America, where polite and non aggressive driving are at ridiculous levels. That car's petrol engine is not at all fuel efficient, plus it looks like it was moulded by a 3 year old. You want to be truly efficient drive a civic, jazz, golf diesel etc.

I recycle when I can ,I dont litter and have energy efficient light bulbs.

On the subject of public transport...

When I went to town today, on the journey in there were about 10 people on the bus and on the way back just 4...

It doesn't help the environment when theres a load of empty busses running around all day. Then again, I'd rather have the convenience of a bus every 5 minutes than save the planet for people long after I'm dead
