I've got a 5150 head unit (EVH II) that I bought from a previous owner and unfortunately it didn't come with the channel switch pedal. So my question is, do I need a pedal that's made specifically for that model of the 5150, or can I just use any old channel switch pedal?

I think you can use a regular footswitch with the original 5150. You cannot with the newer ones and the 6505. They have a midi style cable.

what type of jack is there for the footswitch? because i know the newer 6505's use a 5 pin plug as opposed to a 1/4 inch
periphery/bulb!

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
