Whenever I hear about the band Tool, someone is almost always associating them with Meshuggah, and vice versa. What are the reasons for this?

Yes they are and do !!!

Well, Tool is much much much better, and Meshuggah pretty much just sucks the wang, so I don't know why anyone would want to compare them...

I seriously doubt that you've ever heard a Tool song before.

Anybody with any knowledge of music in anyway can hear similarities between them, but they are also pretty different in other ways.

Tool is so much better in my opinion, but Meshuggah are still really good.

Meshuggah and Tool are both awesome ****ing bands.

That aside, I have no idea. They're both very trippy prog, although Meshuggah went for the death-like approach. Tool is just plain epic. Very similiar structures in their songs whne I think about it.
