Have you ever experienced any viruses?
Just wanting to know how common it is because people tend to get paranoid over it.

I'm 17 right now and had a personal computer since I was five and never even experienced it, probably because I always used an Apple.

I won't be surprised if this thread turns into a Windows VS. Mac argument.

I thought they're always at peace?
I mean that's bull****, mac as the neatness and accessability, while windows exceeds with hardcore gaming and programming.
They both are great.

Though my mother uses a PC and she got infected twice.

i'm lucky, my uncle is a computer genius who owns his own store. if i have any problems i just take it to him and he fixes it. i've never had a virus he couldn't get rid of right away.

I used to have to deal with them back when I was an Admin. in my school lab... Stupid kids would bring in music files or .doc files that they didn't know where they came from. Oh well, they were usually simple.

The other admin. and I would write .bat files for fun...

Solution to everything.

iv been using windows computers seriously mostly for games, web browsing and production (3d graphics, etc.) for about 7 or 8 years, and iv gotten about 4 or 5 viruses. only 1 or 2 needed reformatting. iv never lost data or have gotten anything stole (knock on wood). its all about being smart. windows constantly gets attacked because

a) its the most popular OS and ur virus will hit the most people
b) average user is just an average user and doesnt know how to protect and be safe
c) its easy cause microsoft are morons

One similar thing happened to school.

One dumb girl downloaded a freeware through torrent to the school server and the whole network of computers got screwed in school.
Lucky for the school they fixed it but the girl was suspended
