I'm trying to learn this tune with my band but my part has to be tabbed wrong. It just sounds terribly wrong and videos on youtube show that he plays it completely different then what is on this site.

I believe the main riff for the Lead guitarist starts near the 6th fret as shown on youtube unlike the tabs on the site reading him starting near the 10th fret

Could someone take a listen and tell me if they can figure it out because I need to get this down before our next practice.

The song is "Banquet" by Bloc Party

Maybe you should try taking the original tab and playing it a step down?

That looks easy enough to figure out yourself, honestly. Try moving the powerchords the tab shows down to the sixth fret and see if that sounds right.

^That

In my experience, most Bloc Party tabs are inaccurate. I had to spend hours trying to make "The Marshals Are Dead" sound right.

Alright thanks for the advice. I think I have the first two chords correct now so I'll just have to work on it a bit more then.

Heres my tab for the Verse:

e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
b|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
g|--10--11-----10--11----10--10-----10--11-------------------------|
d|--11--11-----11--11----11--11------8---8--------------------------|
a|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

And theres a couple other more chords there but don't wanna take up too much space. But the base of them is 11. Its all played around that area.
Try to pronouce my last name...

That above looks kinda the same as that tab so, yes it can be played around the 6th and 7th fret. If you wanna play it around there then here:

e|----------------------------------------------|
b|--6--7----6--7----6--6--------------------|
g|--6--6----6--6----6--6----6--6-----------|
d|------------------------------8--8----------|
a|----------------------------------------------|
e|----------------------------------------------|

This is the verse

e|------------------------------------------------------------------|
b|--6-7---6-7---6-6-------------6-7---6-7-----------9---9----|
g|--6-6---6-6---6-6---6-6------6-6---6-6---6-6---10-10---|
d|------------------------8-8--------------------8-8--------------|
a|------------------------------------------------------------------|
e|------------------------------------------------------------------|

chorus is too boring for me to tab now, if u want tab message or sumthin. or if u have guitar pro 5 then you can look at the whole song completley tabbed with guitar bass drums and vocals
