Anyways ive had it for a long time, the neck is cracking seriously and drops out of tune. This is the guitar i always use for shows. Can i bolt any gibson neck or epiphone neck to it? whats the scale size. Thanks

it has a 24.75" scale length. No, you cannot bolt any gibson neck to it. It has to be a neck designed to fit the epiphone SG. Good luck with that one, really.
And why does the title mention pickups if there aren't any pickups involved?? XD
By the way, pictures of the neck, please: you may be able to fix it.

Is it a set neck? They are a pain in the ass to replace.

It'd cost more to replace than buying the same guitar again.

I think the TS is on about the SG-310 or the SG-Special?

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

The gibson and epi set necks are different enough to not be compatable. For the price of an epi neck and replacement you can get a new g400 and new pickups. If its an actual bolt neck its not really worth the money to replace the neck.

its my workhorse guitar, i might put gibson pickups in it, its got the bolt neck, i was looking at other epiphone necks on ebay like old ones, the crack is on the 3rd fret and goes completley around the neck

I'd suggest buying another SG, maybe a G-400.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
