a digitech death metal through a crush 30r isn't going to sound any better then what you're running right now.

the crush is just a solid state practice amp that sounds nothing like an orange. sort of like how marshall has the mg, orange has the crush (but not as crappy).
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

The Crush is an absolutely vile amp. Far worse than the MG and even more ridiculously overpriced.

Or go used and see what is out there for cheap. Used PV Ultra combos go pretty cheap. Not knowing what is available used by you I can't really rec any of them.

Also people have mentioned a Blackstar HT-5.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

If you actually read any of the proper reviews of the Crush, you'll find most people like it. I bought one last week and it's a great little amp. Well suited to heavy rock, but get a pedal for metal.

yeah, it's not half bad for the price. definitely just a practice amp though.
Gear :

Gibson Les Paul Special
Fender Koa Stratocaster
Korg Pitchblack
Dunlop 535Q Crybaby Wah
BBE Boosta Grande
Fulltone OCD v4
EHX Russian Big Muff Pi
Vox Night Train
Egnater Rebel 112x Cab
Marshall Class 5

Eh, it's actually quite bad for the price. Score one used, and it's a usable practice amp. But never get one new.

Budget metal usually = cube or vypyr.
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

I like the Reverb. It's good if you aren't comparing them to tube amps, though I guess there's better practice SS. The overdrive is not so good, the cleans are nice enough though.

buddy of mine has a peavey vypyr, his tone is great for magnesium-based metal
