Like $100-$200 cheap. Something I can just screw around with in my basement when I'm bored (although, preferably not the utter most crap on the planet).

I play bass, so no, I don't plan on taking this anywhere. Just something to do.

A Jasmine by Takamine S - 34C would be a nice cheap guitar probably can pick one up for $130 If you want to spend a little more a Alvarez RD6 is probably $180. That is if you want new you can always get good deals on used stuff to.

Listen to Rodney there. Good suggestions. I'll also add in some of the lower-priced Yamahas. TBH, the Alvarez RD6 might be one of your best bets here.

There's a birthday gift thread here where a guy got a solid top twelve string for under $200 from some brand I never heard of; they might be worth checking out.
