What is the proper way to use the whammy i mean i can get the sound of the note but i dont really know if im doing it right or not.

Well if you really want extreme dive bombing like Kerry King, he has a high-end double locking tremolo. It might not work if you don't have a proper OFR or a Kahler which is what he used. It's possible, considering Eddie Van Halen did it with a Standard Strat bridge, but to pull off Slayer-esque dive bombs and yanks, a proper locking trem is necessary.

Just listen to want you want and yank it to the desired pitch. Nothing else to it.

Don't base the whole thing around it, just use it as a side tool to make it sound better.

Yes, it's hard to do and a lot harder to semalessly fit it into your playing - so what?
