I've been trying to find a way to power a pair of large (I couldn't tell you the wattage at this moment) speakers.

What could I use? A set of car batteries? a generator (last resort)?

You want to send an electric current to your speakers? Good luck...

Basically I want to get power out the the middle of a field where no power currently exists.

Well obviously I'll use an amp...

So, you're looking for ways to power an amp, not speakers. Because speakers do not require power.

Ok.... Why?

We would need to know the power consumption of the amp, I think your best bet is going to be a generator which typically aren't very cheap to rent.

Yessum. I need to power an amplifier, I don't know the wattage, but I would guess around 150 watts.

Just use a set of AA batt's and some glue, that'll fix her up...

You're not going to be able to use a car battery unless you're able to convert to AC power. Not going to happen.

Your only option is a generator.

Go spend about 3K on a solar panel...or just plug the amp into a wall outlet.

You're going to need a very long, low gauge extension cord or a generator.
