The Sound Of The Beast was okay... at least, I think that was the title of the book... I don't think you'll ever find a great book about metal, it's mostly mediocre stuff about Motley Crue.

There was a biography of Slayer, and one of floridian death metal.

Can't remember either titles though

All I've read is The Sound of the Beast, and that was missing **** like mad. Didn't cover all the big metal subgenres.

Read the books Lords of Chaos and Swedish death metal, which deals with the origin of Scandinavian extreme metal.

I found a book called 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists

got a good laugh at it, it listed jeff beck and "hot new talents like Mick Thompson of the nu-metal band Slipknot. "

they sure know their stuff.

I'm still looking, I found a dimebag one, but its coming out in may

Mick Thompson? Even me, who avoids Slipknot like the plague knows that Jim Root is the far superior player. And that doesn't even say anything.
