I think its called a multi-tap...I am wanting a delay where you can control the following:

Delay Level
Delay Time (time between original signal and when it starts repeating)
Interval/Repeat Time (time between the successive repeats)
Repeats (# of times it echoes or repeats)
Tap Tempo (we know what it is)

What am I describing?

Multi-Tap?
Echoplex?
Analog?

Which type of delay am I looking for?

2, 3, 5 are essentially the same thing.
1 is gonna have to be done by hand.
messing around with 4 is something i've been after too, and I've found the best solution is a Line6 DL4 (which has a built-in tap tempo) and an external expression pedal to control the feedback (number of repeats)

I guess that would be closest, a multi-tap with tap tempo.

See, I want my delay to be like:

DA.....da da da da da da

Or do they not make anything that can do that?

What?

Yeah, they don't arrest/ticket hobos because they can't pay the fines. Then they hang out in the jail all day eating free food. There's no point.

Oh god...this thread....it is going places....

They don't make a delay that does that, though you could get that effect with the proper technique I think. If I had a delay I'd try to show you, but alas, I do not.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Actually, an echo or something might work, that sound like what you're describing.

I think I may have found what I'm looking for:

I'll be trying it out either tommorow or the day after. Whenever I have time.

A friend of mine suggested giving the Line 6 DL-4 a try. I'll try it. But if it sounds anything like a Spider, you know I'll be doing good not to smash it up right then and there.

okay, maybe a bit harsh. I just dont care for line 6 stuff.

Don't judge a company by it's bottom of the line stuff. That's like judging Marshall for MGs.

i have the DD-20, and kind of wish i had the DL-4 to be honest with you. it's worth giving both a spin, but it takes a while to get to know your pedal, especially one with so many effects.
