I will describe most people viewing this thread: You know The Presidents from their first album but never listened to any of their other work. Believe me, Their first album was good, Their second album is better and represents The Presidents so much better. Their fourth and fifth albums are amazing although #5 takes a while to understand, seeing it starts out with a punk-ish song and then goes slower.

If you are a first time listener here is a list of songs I recommend:

Back Porch
Cleveland Rocks (Cover, Seen on the Drew Carey show)
Lunatic To Love
Poke and Destroy
Rot In The Sun
Sharpen Up Those Fangs
Some Postman

For anyone who doesn't know, The Presidents have a Youtube channel. Here is a link to it but turn down your volume, They have a video on autoplay and it could be loud!

For those who are real fans or want to know the band's history, The Presidents released their first album in 1995 which spawned the hits "Lump" "Peaches" and "Kitty". In 1996 Weird Al parodied "Lump" and The Presidents recorded another album which, In my opinion beats their debut album by a ton. In following years they recorded a cover of "Cleveland Rocks" for The Drew Carey Show. In 1998 they quit as a band and released a collection of B sides and such. In 2000 they briefly reformed and recorded an album. In 2004 they fully reformed. Since then they released two albums, One which spawned the hit "Some Postman" and the newest which has no flaws whatsoever although it takes time to appreciate.

Personally, I only found out about them in January last year but in May they became my favorite band and have been ever since, I even had all of their studio albums in under 6 months time of buying my first PUSA album some time in March. Now here comes the sad part... Most people don't realize The Presidents have been back for years! They may have taken a slower approach to music since 2004 but they still rock as good as they did before they broke up and are better, even! Their newest album "These Are The Good Times People" Took me a while to understand as it starts off with a punk-ish song and then goes slower paced but once I really listened to it I loved it and can't say anything bad about any of the songs.

I love The Presidents they have such a crazy style to them. Lump is one of my favorite songs by them. I also love how the whole album was written with only one splash as their cymbol, so unique.
I love them, my dad used to sing the whole first album to me.
Oct. 20th, 2009: New guitar AND front row for Mars Volta.

Is that a ukulele in your pants, or did you just rip ass to the tune of "Aloha Oi"?

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.

This is one of the most fun bands I have ever heard. Their music just makes me smile. It is where I think pop-punk should have gone, not to this type of stuff http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=10262581

The Presidents ARE what music should be about... Fun rock music, Not the horror you linked to... Never post that again because those guys scare me BADLY.

You know, I just realized I don't have any friends who like The Presidents as much as I do. It's sad. Most never listened outside of their first album. My best friend listened to one of their songs from Love Everybody and liked it a lot so that's a relief but I think I'm going to look long before I find another really big fan of The Presidents like myself.
