Hi,

So i got this S470 the other day off ebay and there is a fret buzz at the 11th fret on the G string. (yes haha Gstring) Anyway, its only on the 11th fret on Gstring, no where else on the guitar. Weird...

Ive ajusted the action and it only goes away when the action is pretty god-dam high and ive heard that lots of people have mega low action and they dont seem to have any problem....
I was wondering, do u recon its something to do with the truss rod cos i dont want to mess with it if it isnt. Or shud i just use higher gauge strings?
The guy on ebay says it has Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottoms (10 - 52) strings on it.
Ive got a gig coming up soon and i want to get this solved as quick as possible
Hope u can help me
Thanks
Mike

It could be a fret. I don't know. I always take stuff in. I don't trust myself with anything besides strings!

Ye same, whenever i touch stuff or try to make something better, i end up making it worse.

But theres a slight problem... i have like £0
Wot wud be wrong with the fret? and if it was, wudnt it affect all the strings at the 11th fret??

AAAAARR LIFES A BITCH

Anyway, just out of interest, how high is everyone elses action on S470?

Sounds like the fret is worn at that spot, someone did a lot of bends/vibrato on that note

The fret looks perfectly fine from looking at it, no bumps or grooves or anything...

oh, and when i have low action, it makes a fret buzz noise. then when i plug it in it plays the same note that the 12th fret does

the fret can be higher which isn't noticeable to the eye. it doesn't have to have a bump or groove on it

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
