Hey,

I don't own a bass, and I need to learn some bass songs. To substitute, I can run my digitech whammy at one octave down and use a guitar. But will that hurt my amp? I'm running a Marshall JCM 900 (4100) through a 1960b 100 watt cabinet.

Thanks

Eden

Nope the whammy is made for a guitar so theoretically it should be able to send the guitar signal an octave below without damaging the speakers
Can we erase the past?

why do you "need" to learn bass songs if you dont have a bass?

Because I've been asked to perform the songs with bands and I have been designated the role of bass player.
