Judging from the tones I get with my Laney LC15 I'd say you would need a pedal in front to get a good metal sound.

Have you considered a used Marshall DSL401? There could also be the possibility of a Randall RG50TC.

And 30 watts tube should easily get over a drummer.

ive considered those two amps

randall would be 2 loud and i dont want a marshall

marshalls actually piss me off

if only, UK prices are balls

TS: 30w tube is plenty

the LC would have a decent stab at metal on its own, probably good to get an OD in the future but it wouldnt be essential i'd think
Get off this damn forum and play your damn guitar.

so why'd you say it wasn't tube....?

30w tube is plenty. I can second the Randall RG, but the XXX would be impossible to find.

You're shooting yourself in the foot with your budget. The RG would be perfect, but a B-Stock one from Thomann is £406.
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

yeah i was kinda messin with the budget thing,, 50 watts will be loud

so i reckon im gnna for the laney

50w won't be much louder than 30, actually. The difference will be in headroom before power tube breakup.
