Hey EG, I just hot a used guitar from a guy who smokes, so it's smells a bit... smoky and it's really noticeable. I've had it in the hardshell case for a couple of hours with car air fresheners in it, and it did the job.

How do you guys go about removing odor from your guitars?

I leave mine in their case for a few days with a pack of mints.

I haven't had to, but I would definitely go down the airfreshener in the hard shell case route

Fender makes a deodorizer that really works well. Just spray it in your case a couple of times over two days and the small will be gone. And it does not harm your guitar.

I give it a good cleaning and let it sit in my not-smoky room, smell goes away and I can still play it.

Otherwise i'd just let it air out for a while.. somewhere with really good circulation.

+1, taking it out of the case would be a good start
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
