Hey guys, I just picked up this Planet Waves Humidifer (http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Planet-Waves-Acoustic-Guitar-Humidifier-with-HTS-?sku=420981) and now that I think about it, I'm not sure what function the little HTS think serves. You can put in a set point % humidity, but what does this do? It's not like it communicates with the actual humidifier in any way. Thanks for the info.

I have the same humidifier without the HTS. I guess you would want to check on you guitar when you open the case up to see what the reading was. Obviously if its 20% humidity you need to refill the humidifier/leave it in the case. If it reads 99% it would be a good idea to take the humidifier out. I live in the northeast though so it's really dry in the winter and pretty humid in the summer so I always have to use it in the winter and never use the humidifier in the summer, the HTS would be of no use to me.
