I have a epiphone thunderbird iv bass guitar and the g tuning key wont tune up all the way, it will get to f# and then not tune any more it will just keep turning. What can i do to fix this. thankyou

sounds like you're gonna have to replace the machine heads(the entire tuning apparatus). Either buy some cheap machineheads and have them installed, or considering it's a beginner level type of bass you could always use this as an excuse to buy a new bass.

As much as I want to just yell out new bass, it's fun when other people new basses too for some reason, it might be better to at least try to fix it. Did your head stock get hit recently? It might not be the whole tuning machine but the peg or the knob is bent

maybe undo the srews on the back and look at the inner workings. compare it to another. see if it looks fixable or maybe a gear stripped.
