With my acoustic there are sometimes where I can't adjust to a certain tuning because it is too low, or even too high (Or at least i'm too scared to go that high) Now there are 2 situations.

When something is too low that my string is too loose to play, should I try a bigger or smaller gauge of string, and how much slack should I give it when putting on the strings? And when I want to have a way higher tuning what do I have it at?

How much higher is it? You'd be surprised how much strings can take... what song do you need to go higher for?

Be careful tuning an acoustic much higher than E, you can easily damage it. Use a capo.
