Hey everyone im looking to buy a multi effects pedal. Right now im looking at the Line 6 POD X3 Live Guitar Multi Effects Pedal, the Line 6 Pod xt, and the Boss GT-10 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal. What are your suggestions? Also feel free to suggest others. My budget is about 500$

Look into single effects. They are MUCH better quality, and easier to tweak in a lot of ways. They are more expensive, but they give you so much better quality than multi-effects. What specific effects are you looking for?

the main reason i was looking for a multi effectspedal is because i use a home studio. So I figured it would be easier for me to record etc using a pedal that came with software just like both the Line 6 pods do. I dont have one specific effect, since I do a little bit of everything :P

The X3 or Xt?
Is it worth the extra money to buy the X3?

I'm just giving him advice, trying to help him make the best decision.

TS: If you want the multi-effects, I'd go with the GT-10. The GT-8 is amazing, so I expect this to be even better.

how about a TC Electronic G-Major?

it's a rack multi-effect and it's specifically just that, an effects processor, no amp simulations or crappy distortions.

the only problem would be that you would have to get a midi controller to control it on the fly or live, but for recording it would be ideal.

This would probably be the best choice out of all of them.

If you don't need the expandability of the G Major, consider the G-Sharp... although, it's only effect + reverb.

Yeah, a lot more space for customizing with the G major.

Go with the X3 Live. The recommendation of single pedals is good, but to just say single pedals is better is wrong, because the POD is just as good as alot of the cheap digitech/dan electro type stuff. For me individual pedals really don't start getting better then a POD until they are well above the $100 mark. I'm in the process of replacing my POD with individual pedals right now and just 3 of them have exceeded $500. It's going to take big $$$ to do everything I can do with the POD better.
