What are some good albums to jam with?
"There's Jimmy Page, the greatest thief of American black music who ever walked the earth."

I jam with Guthrie's Govan's Erotic Cakes. There's so much variety in the songs, it's great for trying different styles.
My gear:

Pretty much AC/DC's entire catalog.

If you can't whip up a groovy jam with some AC/DC, you should sell all your guitar gear and kill yourself.

I'm also really liking jamming to a lot of tracks from Crystal Planet by Satriani at the moment.
Check out my guitar quartet composition The Lone Wolf and you will be rewarded! With a live wolf!

I love jamming with the easier Dream Theater songs. Six Degrees and Metropolis pt2... and images and words.... it's all fun.

Also might be out of place, but iif you don't play a lot of lead, Sing the Sorrow by AFI is extremely fun to jam with if you're into that type of music.

If you play bass Les Claypools solo albums are really good to jam over I find.
For guitar I would probably say some Parliament Funkadelic or other funk bands from the 70's, easy to find a groove.
65DaysOfStatic albums are fun to jam over too.

Allman Brothers anyone? Fillmore East is one of my favorite albums to groove to.
I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.

I also love jamming along to the 'Charlie Hunter Quintet'. Great jazz group.

Kill em All, classic headbangers but some of the solos are really difficult.

I find myself agreeing intensely.

Also, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac's self-titled debut, and AC/DC's If You Want Blood You've Got It.

I dunno but, Queen of the Stone Age's "Make it wit' you" is the ULTIMATE jam song, try it.

"You're a twat!"- That dude in morrisons

"You Ugly git!" - That girl in the restaurant

I mostly jam to Hendrix albums. Just try to follow his lead.

I also go on youtube and watch tons of old blues songs and jam with them. After I start with the old stuff I go to stuff thats abit more recent like B.B. King and then Clapton and all of them.

Good stuff.
