Been listening to a lot of Michael Schenkner and Kirk Hammett lately, especially there use of the Wah as a trebble/gain boost. I just started experimenting with it, and it sounds sick. Anybody else use the wah for more than just "porn sounds" (Which is Kirk Hammett calls it)

i use it sometimes as a volume boost, but it still sounds modulated, but it works, also it works if your trying to deepen the bass as well by keeping your toe in the up position...though my foot gets tired being like that for a while
Crank your rig on 12, let it feedback wide-open for a good two minutes, freak your neighbors out and ENJOY THE POWER OF THE GUITAR! 'Oh, what a feeling,' and it ain't no damned Toyota!" ----Dimebag Darrell

I use it to make my bass guitar sound like a demon in agony once I add distortion.

Way to regurgitate something straight outta this month's Guitar World...

I only use my wah for some Hendrix songs, and my neighbor uses it for some soloing at times.

I actually think Zakk Wylde does this sometimes, not 100% sure but to me when black label society plays stillborn it sounds like the main riff has a wah toe down to get those harmonics. iunno.
