I've come across mick thompson signature ibanez that has "seven" wrote on the fretboard and i want to do it to one of my guitars.......ANYWAY i was wondering if he was the first guitarist to have words on his fretboard???

probably not the first, i've seen a few others with words on their fretboard. mostly lame "guitarists" though, i.e. taylor swift, tom higginson. edit: how could i forget syn gates

it would cost quite a bit to get words inlayed into your fret board.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

I saw BB King playing on a biography the other day, he had his name on his fretboard. And that gentleman's been around long before Mick Thompson.
