What should I cover? I have an hour and so far I thought of basic chords, finger warm ups, names of the strings and one song ( wonderwall). Is there anything else I should cover?

I would suggest a song for the next lesson unless they are quite the natural.

Because it's funnier, I seem to get most of the (few) beginners I teach to memorize this withins seconds.

String Names ^
Finger Warmups (1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4, etc)
The "easier" open chords. (D, A, E)
How to read tabs/chords
IMRP (Index, Middle, Ring, Pinky) and the IMPORTANCE OF USING YOUR PINKY, even if its hard

That's what I always start off with, and I don't teach them a song until they know the basics, and try to start them off with a song that they'll like. Find their music taste and try to find an easy song that they'll recognize and teach them to play that.

My first song was Enter Sandman, no solo, took two weeks to learn because my instructor didn't even bother teaching me anything besides how to read a tab :/ so I started slow for a really long time.... if I was my old instructor I would have started me off smaller...

I recommend some basic chord strumming or fingerpicking, maybe some rhythm exercises too and an easy song.

I think the Easter Bunny one is better- it'll familiarize the high E as the first string, and the low E as the 6th.
