Ok, before you tell me to go to the ULTIMATE killswitch thread, I've read over that about 55 times to ensure I wired it correctly.

Ok, so here's the deal. Last night I went out and got a SPST momentary switch, AKA a Killswitch.

I was gonna install it on my strat, so I went to the Ultimate Killswitch thread, and studied the wiring diagrams. I soldered it onto the Volume Pot, as the diagram instructed. (Don't laugh at my nooby Soldering skills <_<

Soldered onto the Volume Pot:

Wired soldered to Killswitch:

Anyways, the problem is that the killswitch has absolutely NO effect on my guitar's sound, other than making the feedback (the staticy kind) become a BIT louder.

Did I wire/solder it right? If so, then what the hell is wrong? O_o

ok, I can't really see whats going on there, but pretty much, one wire (live) should go on the little piece that comes off of the volume pod , and the other wire (ground) should go on the actual volume pod. make sure the wires don't touch one another and were spliced correctly when you connected them to the killswitch.

hope that helps? that's how I did mine.

Edit: It looks like you soldered both wires onto the little piece that comes off of the volume pod. take one off and solder it to the body of the volume pod.

Edit 2: and just to clarify, I do mean the big silver part, not the gold or the twisty part of the knob.

OK, to clear up the pic a bit, due to blurriness.

The volume pot has 3 little soldering ports, bumps whatever you want to call them.

The diagram I followed instructed to solder on wire onto the Center bump, and one wire into the right bump.

Does that help?

EDIT, does it matter which one I de-Solder?

one definitely goes on the volume pod's body (check my edits).

When you create a circuit, you need a grounded wire and a live, by putting them both on the bumps, your creating two lives, hence the buzzing.

Edit: I'm 90% sure it shouldn't, but incase it does, de-solder the center one.

I hope that solves the problem

If you have any more issues with it, PM me, I can open up my guitar and look at the wiring. I just don't have a screwdriver handy atm to look.
