I'm trying to buy Locking tunners for my Ibanez VBT700, I was thinking of the Sperzel locking tunners they seem to be the ones that would nicely fit Ibanez.

Any other suggestions or comments?

Yeah, Sperzels are generally agreed to be awesome tuners... Grovers are usually well-liked, too

Anyone else see the irony in smashing a guitar that says "peace and love" ?

Well Sperzels wont be a drop in replacement as they have a location pin in a different place.

So now that I have installed the Locking tuners is there a correct way of using them? like do I need as less string rolled around the tuner as possible or does it really matter?

You dont need to have wraps anymore. You just put the string in, give it a half turn and lock it.

^ + 1 no wraps, pull the string through, tighten the thumb wheel, and tune as normal.

But, only do at most 1 wrap.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
