I am ashamed to say that I have no idea what the difference with a 500k pot and a 250 k pot is.I need to get some pot for a Partscaster that I'm putting together but don't know which pots i need to get.Help.

It depends on what kind of resistance your pickups need.
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

Yeah but is there a reason why they are different??

I'm using Fender Custom Shop '69 pickups.

I dont understand the exclamation, but the higher the value, the brighter it sounds. so strats usually have 250k to balance out the already bright single coil pickups, and SG's, les pauls and other humbucker guitars use 500k pots to make it more bright. of course this is an over simplified exclamation

Effectively... the higher the resistance the less high frequencies are attenuated.
