I would say Enter Sandman to be easier.
I'm a beginner at guitar and I can do it all except the solos.

If not then, 'End Of The Line' is easy too.

yeah I really don't practise fingerpicking...like ever. I've tried learning it with a pick but failed badly, and gave up after 20 minutes.

I guess it's time to work on that.

I find this slightly ironic, I feel if I watched the documentary I would like metallica less.

Regardless enter sandman is probably the easiest song besides the solo, which is pretty easy but that's just IMO

Depending on what other stuff you know our recommendations can vary.

After my second year of playing I didn't have trouble playing any of their rhythm parts. By the third year all of the lead parts were fairly easy as well. Both James and Kirk use quite a few techniques in quite a few songs.
