I have a Basswood guitar w/ bolt on neck and fixed bridge.

Which pickup combonation would be best for Standard tuning metal?
I want very Chunky palm muting, while still remaining Clear. And fat highs with a good clean sound.

Super Distortion/Paf Pro
Evo 2/Evo
Breed set mabye?

Any suggestions?

Breed or Evo. I wouldn't put the super dist. in anything that I want to hear a lot of articulation and clarity in. I've had great results with the EVO in my gear, and I prefer it at this point overy anything else.

if you want chunky plm muted metal check out the evo 2 bridge. thats what it's designed for and it sounds amazing.

Breeds definitely, Evos don't do chunky - they're for searing intricate lead work, if you want fat hefty tones you want Breeds.

Never tried them.

Is the breed clear with high gain settings?

well anyways, the d-activators have a really clear sound, and the cleans are really good. just something to consider

If you have a Line 6 Spider, your pickups don't matter - it'll sound digital no matter what.

Mine get chunky just fine. I haven't had any issues with a thick, rounded rhythm style in the years I've been using them. It won't get meaty/creamy like a 59 in the neck will, but it definitely does rhythm chunk well.
