i was hoping to make a backing track from a guitar pro file as i can't find a backing track for the song on the internet
but since MIDI quality sucks i thought i'd use the RSE
then i discovered that it won't work at all, the menu won't even come up when i press F2 so i don't know what to do

is there any solution to this?

and if not, does anyone have a backing track to Heir Apparent by Opeth?

just letting you know that RSE sounds crappier than MIDI
The best thing about life is knowing you put it together

depends on what version you use.

and how much you've explored it
You like it

i'm not looking for incredible quality
just something that sounds a bit better than MIDI to play over

Do you actually have the RSE packs that you need for GP5.2? They need to be installed separately as far as I recall...

Also if you're using the 5.2 RSE then they need to be tweaked a lot to get them to sound better than MIDI IMHO.

Therein lies the problem, the 5.2 RSE packs need to be installed seperately after you've installed the main application.

you need to download the RSE pack, it can be found.

But to be honest, it doesn't sound all that good, not much better than the midi.

The real trick to RSE is the Master EQ that comes with it, and the Master Reverb.

Very good for the producer in you *thumbs up + wink* !!!

Plus, it makes it sound better overall.

install each of them seperately

click "RSE" next to the play button on GP

click each instrument, and on the right hand side select "use RSE" and then select the instrument

thats how i did it

TS missed step one, that's where the majority of the problem lies in this case
