So yeah,
I'm supposed to be in the process of writing an argument essay about any topic that I can find.

I need to take a position and defend it.

So Pit,
help me find a controversial topic.

I don't want to do abortion or gay "marriage" because those are too based in ethics and morals to write ten pages about.

I need a topic that has legal history and is relevant,
and I kinda want to do something music related.

Oh, and my friend is doing legalization of marijuana so I do want to be original
Blindfolds aside I'd probably still close my eyes

And try to feel a trembling fetal life inside
that shotgun barrel that's about to make me bleed

Yeah, music sharing is the obvious topic I was considering.

Really interesting ideas about it I could use,
plus Lars' involvement makes it a winner

Wait, so you CAN argue Lennon, Page and Hendrix didn't know much theory? How is that debatable? Unless you define your terms and back it up with evidence, you can't make that claim.

But really, I like the pirating one. It sounds like it would be fun to debate over it.

I've seen several quotes from all three saying they didnt know that much music theory I only remember Lennons, "I can play a diminished or augmented chord and write a song with them, but I cant tell you how they got their name or why" it was something similar to that

I see. I just figured they all knew/know theory. You learn something new every day, eh?

we can have someone in charge of sources...

Music piracy definitely. Talk about how rapidly its evolving, how file sharing and sites like myspace open so many doors for bands that wouldn't stand a chance financially 20 years ago.

How this is happening within our lifetime, changing music, how we listen to it and its role in society in a matter of years. There are so many points to cover, and so much going on as we speak.

Look up court cases involving the RIAA, bands that used to sell millions of cd's now giving out music for free, myspace and its endless oppurtunities for non commercial bands, and the future of music as we know it.

Looks like UG just started your paper for you.
