im kinda new to linux but my comp wont have windows so its a last resort. any tips?

What do you mean "nothing works"? What are you trying to do with them?

I've used Linux and I always end up going back to XP.

i havent got a music player on my comp yet, i wanted to try to figure out how to open the mp3player first. should i try getting a media player first?

EDIT: maggot, by nothing works i mean it has countless error messages every time i try to install them.
