I'm going to rhodes/turkey in August with some friends, and I don't know if I can make the whole holiday without playing some sort of instrument!
Also, Ouds and stuff are cool, I was wondering if anyone knew what stringed instruments they have, and if they're really heavy and expensive so I can't take them back on the plane?
Sitars are massive before anybody says that.

ouds are very very light, and ive carried them on planes before
u shouldnt have a problem as they have a shorter neck.

haha I'll look forward to that thanks, how much you think I should expect to have to pay for one?

i got mine from jordan for about 200 bucks.
its all about build quality and wood used.
i would go to a profeesional luthiers, but if its your first time getting one, dont spend over 300 for one. hell, u can probably get a great sounding one for around 150
