can you guys reccomend me some decent recording devices for maybe under $600? itd mainly be used for putting songs up on myspace and whatnot.

If you have a good enough computer I'd buy some Shure SM57s (possibly used) a mixer and some good software (which you don't HAVE to pay for; Audacity is decent for barebones recording, and it's free)

This should probably be in Riffs and Recordings, btw.

You can get some great audio interfaces for that much.

what instruments do play on recording and do you really need a standalone or can you use your computer?
