I was browsing on thomann and I saw this build you own kit (based on a AX series ESP ltd guitar). It costs less than AX-50 its based on and I know that it will be put together reasonably well if I do it.

I wouldn't trust anything where the body is simply listed as being made of 'solid wood'. At least with the actual AX-50, you know it's going to be basswood which isn't fantastic but isn't terrible either. On the other hand, god knows what that kit body is made from.
