Anyone here play the song "the pot" by tool with a band? I have no idea what to do during the bass solo as I do not have the means to get any of those effects - without actually going out and buying them.

Me and some guys are getting together to play a few songs and "The Pot" is one of them, what should I do when the bass solo is that doesn't take away from the song?

tell jokes about the crowds' mothers being ugly.
Lord Gold feeds from your orifices and he wants to see you sweat.
Lord Gold probes you publicly and makes your pussy wet.
Now say his name.....

Just improv a bass solo. Solos don't have to be copied exactlly. Whats the fun in that? Copying a song exactlly is not that hard, you gotta take the song and put your own spin on it to make it yours.

Tell that to all the RIP Cliff RIP Burton RIP kids out there lol.

Toolbassplayer on youtube is a good way to check out what Justin does, but don't even think about writing anything for a comment, the guy's a douche who absorbs compliments like he's entitled to them and can't take criticism.

Actually TOOLbassplayer is a TB member, and he is a pretty swell fellow.

Apparently until you offer some criticism of something he does on youtube.

I did. And he was a pretty cool guy. You see there is a difference between making a critique and criticizing.
