well, ive lately been playing a video game that has particularly interesting sounding basslines in the music , but the guitar also uses a very deep tone and palm mutes a lot, so im having troble distinguishing the bass part from the guitar part. I was wondering if there was anything i should specifically listen for or anything like that, so i can tell the difference
(the game by the way is "bully" )
If you have a sound program, like SoundMAX or something like that, you can turn the bass up in the equalizer.
It might get muddy though.
Follow the smoke toward the riff filled land
Try to find a master copy of the song online, Change the EQ by boosting the lows, and drop the mids/highs - (highs should be almost non existent when trying to tab the bass line).

See where that gets you.

I heard someone say that Fall Out Boy had amazing guitarwork. But, it was a 13 year old girl, so it didn't matter.
