Opened box from musicians friend, should I call and make a complaint?

Hello there pit!
I have just received a new guitar in the mail, an RG2550Z
But I got it with the box opened.
The guitar and its case were inside, relatively undamaged. However, there were a few scratches on the pickguard. It plays well and nothing seems to be missing, but should I still call and complain?

You can send it back and get a new one, if you feel like waiting.

I am quite happy with it, however this was 'supposed' to have been a new guitar I am purchasing, and the fact that it was opened makes me very concerned.
It was UPS shipping btw.

If the shipment was insured UPS does open it and ensure that the item is actually "insurable"

Confirm with the sender that the guitar was actually new, then if it is, direct complaints to the delivery company.

If I were you I honestly wouldn't give a **** unless it was a nice scratch plate, like one with a design on it or something.

Turns out that it was the plastic.
its only my 2nd guitar, and my first new, so i overlooked that..

I would still like to call and just inquire why it was opened.

IF it was to make sure it was insured(not entirely sure why a delivery company would do that, but i dont know anything about them) then I would be ok.

If the UPS people decided to have that little jam session, then I would be still ticked that it was tampered with, but not really caring because it works.

Things shouldnt always just be ignored :/

Ah, it's just scratches on the pickguard...

I snapped my high E once and sliced my finger open, so I can only assume snapping the low E would put me into a coma or something.

That happens a lot when high value items get shipped, the shipping company has to inspect it for insurance purposes.
