I have a Laney VC30-112 and have just changed the power tubes to a matched set of 4 JJ EL84s. After leaving it for 10 minutes of so to warm up, there's a hum coming from the amp and very little guitar sound. Is this normal when retubing an amp? I read that VC30s do not need rebiasing when their power tubes are replaced with a matched set and I'm kinda relying on that being true. There's a high chance that I'm just being stupid here 'cos I'm a tube n00b.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

EDIT: Getting a lot more sound now, but still a bit of hum.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Just wanted to check I'm not wrecking my amp.

OK the amp was working fine for a couple of hours, the hum was slowly dying down, and now it has suddenly stopped producing any sound whatsoever. Can anyone help me? :S
