Im hopeing someone will be able to answer my question to this.. it seems when ever I hook up my guitar to my pc through an effects pedal the sound coming out of my computer or during the recording process is nothing like the sound quality I get from just hooking up my head phones directly from the effects pedal, I am thinking it has to do with the sound card on my computer.. anyone have any ideas..

yes you need a high quality sound card in order to capture good audio like that.

That line-in is meant for internet microphones. it isn't going to give you good quality at all.

Yup, you need a good quality soundcard. PC soundcards are not designed to do recording as we guitarists like to do it.
Look into M Audio, that's the brand I use. But there's plenty more to choose from.
They run from $70-200.
