Go guys what are some good ts-9 mods?
I was thinking of ASYMETRICAL diode switch or a germanium switch, does any one know how i could wire this?
I remember i saw a diagram for this but it put the germaniums in d3, my board doesnt have a hole for d3 .
any other pedal mods are welcome.
thanks guys.

No. Go there. There is a REASON why that thread exists.

then why are you keeping this alive?

so people like you can make pointless bumps 3 hours after TS does.

srsly, dude, just stfu and the damned thing will drop to the bottom.
if TS got no replies after that last one he made, he'd have no plausible reason to post again. but you're giving him reason to do that.

keep posting and you add to the problem.

Use a SPDT switch or bypass the extra Ge diode. Just wire the Ge diode in series one of the stock Si ones in the feedback loop. The SPDT will bypass or select the extra diode.

I doubt this will be a very useful mod.

well what clipping diode would sound good?
I honestly just wanted to do it for more variability.

Get a DPDT on-off-on and select between LEDs, no diodes and silicons. You can maker the silicons symmetrical or asymmetrical. That will add a bunch of sounds.

Don't most led clipping sections sound the same though, i already have a ds-1 with led clipping, its very tube like but uncompressed, i want something a bit different from that. Btw you got this from Byoc didnt you? my friend that has a bit more experience modding pedals made the switch to ge today at first he only tried on and it lowered the volume significantly. we went on byoc's forum and saw that when you link a couple together in series your volume does not drop. I thought it sounded pretty good and im considering doing GE, no diode (im assuming this turns your ts into a clean boost and then) stock silicone

Hahaha no I didn't get this from BYOC. Haha those guys are idiots over there. What I am telling you is basic knowledge I have picked up and learned.

There are only so many clipping options I have tons of pedals with LED clippers. They sound different cause they are work differently in these different pedals. You can experiment with LED color and type, there is slight variation in tone there. You can add Si diodes in series if you wanted to, even add resistors.

With no diodes your op-amp still clips there will still be a distorted tone. That said turning the gain knob to 0 and boosting the volume makes the TS a decent cleanish boost.

The different forward voltages of the different diodes cause the volume loss. The more they clip the make loss in amplitude (volume).

another question what is this mosfet thing i've been hearing about?
I've heard that the ocd has mosfet clipping and then regular Si clipping section.

here's a crazy idea.... EXPERIMENT! instead of asking which mods are good why not try them out for yourself. who knows you might even stumble across a new mod (doubtful but you never know...)

Its using a MOSFET as a clipping diode. Another sound...
