so my school MIGHT have a ROCK show. so i want to learn some songs before hand so that i can perfect them. i'm like an advanced beginner(can't sweep, shred, pinch harmonics ) and hope fully i can recruit a 5 maybe 6 person band. gimme some songs that aren't too easy or hard but sound awesome. and some that if i cant find a singer i can play.

so far this is what im thinking:

no singer songs - europa by carlos santana/solo rendition of little wing by jimi hendrix
maybe an intro song if i have one - intro by for today
full band songs - fade to black by metallica/cant stop or dani california by RHCP/alive with the glory of love by say anything/stricken by disturbed/im in the band by the hellacopters/perfect situation by =w=eezer

i have 10 minutes to play so i can squeeze in 2-3 songs maybe
sorry for the long list but thats just to give you guys an idea of what id play(i'll play whatever)
thanks for the help pit
everlong if the drummers up for it.

All Alone is All we Are
One song I think you'll be able to play is "Long Way Down" by the Goo Goo Dolls. If you're feeling ambitious, you can try using the version done by Haste the Day (it's a step down, a bit faster, and the solo is quite different)

I don't know, I just like the song and think it'd be cool if you did it. It's not hard to play.
The solo's from the Torn Between Scylla And Charybdis by trivium will be suitable for you
The will be heartache,
there will be rain,
and joy I can't explain.
smells like teen spirit- nirvana
something by ac/dc
sweet child of mine

other things im to lazy to rite down.
just play someting that will get the whole crowd involved and pumped
Comfortably numb (You WILL have to perfect the solo to this though)
My Michelle
Don't Cry (Probably the most trickey on this list)
Highway to hell
You shock me all night long
Heart-Shaped Box

To name a few

Why stick with the same old Smells Like Teen Spirit, Back in Black, and Paranoid school concert songs?

Go with something different.

Try "Classico" by Tenacious D without vocals. It is a complitation of classical music that would sound sick on an electric guitar.

Try some punk if you like it, maybe Linoleum - NOFX, Skate and Destroy - The Faction, or Don't Drag Me Down - Social Distortion.

Whatever you want works.

It's just an easy way to shift blame as always. If Slipknot caused people to get murdered, then spoons caused Rosie O'Donnell to get fat.

^Buckethead - Big Sur Moon

All you need is a delay pedal and a long pinky range. It is not that hard.

You can also do an instrumental version of "classico" by Tenacious D.

Studies have shown that 92% of guitar players are close-minded. Copy this into your signature if you're part of the 8% who enjoy rap.
"Go With the Flow" by Queens of the Stone Age (If the drummer is up for it)

"Blackhole Sun" by Soundgarden (Two singers, one of which needs a deep voice for backing vocals)

"Until the End" by Breaking Benjamin (If you don't mind doing battle music)

"Follow" by Breaking Benjamin (if more than one person is singing)

"Unknown Soldier" by Breaking Benjamin (Would give the two guitarists a harmonized solo/duet which would be cool)

"El Scorcho" by Weezer (Really easy and fun to play, gives the guitarists and bassist the chance to move around and perform stage moves)

"Say It Ain't So" by Weezer (Gaurenteed to make the crowd sing)

These are some songs that as for talent show wise doesn't seem to be overdone.
I've gotten a lot of LOLs in my time but I choose not to sig them to not look like a pretentious douchebag

Paranoid- Classic metal song, easy to sing to, easy to learn, you can pay more attention to the crowd.
I'm gonna try to suggest things no one else has or probably will
Would by Alice In Chains
Man in the Box by ^^^^^
Peace Sells by Megadeth if you can find a good bassist
Beat it by Michael Jackson
Alive by Pearl Jam
Juicebox by the Strokes
you have to think about the audience, non-musicians do not like the same type of music that musicians like because we look at it different. Your school would probably perfer more pop songs. you can sneek a clasic rock song in but that might not get the crowd moving as much as something like escape the fate or breaking benjamin thats what people at my school liked. i only really listen to prog so i can't help to much. hurt by johnny cash/nine inch nails/sevendust great song
You could be a nerd and play Impulse from GH2.

They're called An Endless Sporadic, and Sun of Pearl is a much better song imo.
