I've been practising Paul Gilbert's I Cannot Tell a Lie, and my tone is decent, but not quite as close to pauls...

I'm using an Ibanez PGM301 with a Peavey Bandit 112 Transtube
my current settings for that song are:

Gain: 10
Treble 7
Mid: 5
Bass: 7
Reverb: 4
Presence 10

am i using the right EQs?
does anyone have a better one?
sorry if i sorta answer my own question but your input would be nice

I'd try bringing the bass down to 5 or 6, and definatley cut the gain down. Way too much gain for the tone you seek.

I don't know what album that's off, but Paul used his Laney GH for quite some time, so I'm not too sure how you intend on getting even a similar sound from a TransTube.

Hey guys! I just started playing electric guitar should I get a Gabson Lay Pall or a Femdor Startokaster. I like the picks on the gabsons but i like how sweet femdors look. Beforre i get a gabson what company makes them?
